“I’m sick of optimism! It’s so exhausting!”

Believe me, I know how exhausting it can be to wake up every morning and try to feel optimistic about love.

Picture this: Only a few years ago I was 49, divorced, depressed, jobless and wondering when I would run out of house payments.

How do you spell discouraged?

So what did I do? I could not find any job in my previous profession so I started my own dating service. I figured I needed a job and a date to cheer me up! Spending so much time hanging out with others who felt just like me, convinced me that we shared the same problem, we had lost all faith in love.

Then I asked myself why I didn’t believe in it anymore and realized I hadn’t felt really good about love since age 24 when I got dumped by someone I loved in a way ONLY a 24-year-old can love.

I knew I needed to call him up and clear this up, but did I have the courage? Would talking to him actually help me believe again?
